Important Safety Notice

Disclaimer

RampWarden provides educational tie-down content, calculator tools, lab observations, and practical discussion for pilots, aircraft owners, and ramp personnel. This page explains the limits of that information.

Effective Date: June 4, 2026

Important: RampWarden content and calculator results are educational tools only. They are not a substitute for aircraft manufacturer guidance, airport rules, engineering review, professional inspection, or pilot judgment.

1. Educational Use Only

RampWarden publishes aircraft tie-down articles, diagrams, calculators, lab notes, rope observations, knot discussions, and related content for general educational purposes. The information is intended to help users think more clearly about tie-down geometry, rope length, preload, working length, wind loading concepts, and material behavior.

RampWarden does not provide certified engineering advice, aircraft maintenance advice, legal advice, regulatory compliance advice, or a guarantee that any aircraft is safely secured.

2. No Tie-Down Safety Guarantee

Aircraft tie-down performance depends on many real-world variables, including aircraft type, aircraft condition, tie-down ring condition, ramp anchor condition, anchor spacing, rope or strap material, knots, hardware, chocks, rope age, UV exposure, moisture, preload, wind direction, gust intensity, slack, terrain, ramp exposure, and user technique.

Because these variables are outside RampWarden’s control, RampWarden cannot guarantee that any rope length, knot, preload target, tie-down method, calculator output, article, chart, lab result, or product discussion will prevent aircraft movement, aircraft damage, anchor failure, rope failure, strap failure, property damage, or personal injury.

3. Calculator Results Are Estimates

RampWarden calculator outputs are simplified planning estimates. They may rely on assumed aircraft dimensions, proxy geometry, estimated anchor locations, simplified three-dimensional distance calculations, user-entered values, and generalized tie-down guidance.

Actual rope length needs and actual tie-down forces may differ from calculator results. Dynamic gusts, shock loading, slack, knots, wet rope behavior, snubbers, anchor geometry, wing movement, ramp layout, and field conditions can materially change outcomes.

4. Lab Content Is Preliminary and Context-Specific

RampWarden may publish lab testing, field observations, rope screening data, charts, videos, and product comparisons. These materials may be preliminary, limited in sample size, specific to the tested equipment, or subject to revision as more data becomes available.

Do not assume that a lab result applies to every aircraft, rope, knot, strap, anchor, weather condition, or ramp environment.

5. User Responsibility

You are responsible for inspecting your aircraft tie-down rings, ropes, straps, knots, chocks, hardware, and ramp anchors before use. You are also responsible for considering weather, forecast conditions, local ramp exposure, aircraft manufacturer guidance, airport rules, and your own training and judgment.

If conditions exceed your confidence, equipment, or local ramp capability, seek qualified help, relocate the aircraft, use more appropriate restraint equipment, or follow the aircraft manufacturer’s and airport’s instructions.

6. No Unsafe Testing

Do not conduct load testing, shock loading, drop testing, destructive testing, or improvised tie-down experiments unless you have appropriate equipment, training, barriers, inspection procedures, and safety controls. Stored energy in ropes, straps, anchors, and hardware can be dangerous.

7. Third-Party Products and Links

RampWarden may discuss third-party ropes, straps, anchors, snubbers, hardware, cameras, reflective products, videos, or other resources. RampWarden does not guarantee third-party specifications, ratings, instructions, claims, availability, or performance. Always review current manufacturer documentation before purchase or use.

8. Relationship to Terms and Privacy Policy

This Disclaimer should be read together with the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict between this Disclaimer and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions control to the fullest extent permitted by law.
